RARBG: The Original Site Has Not Returned

RARBG was one of the most useful movie and television indexes in the old version of this guide. That reputation is why the RARBG name remains valuable to clone operators.

The original service closed on May 31, 2023. Its operators announced that the site and its release activity were ending, and the closure was reported as permanent. A site at another address may copy the design, reuse the catalog, or publish new torrents under the name, but that does not mean the old team has returned.

I was too quick to accept that appearance in the previous update. A functioning RARBG-style site looked convincing because it carried recent movies and familiar filters. On closer inspection, there was no reliable basis for presenting it as the original RARBG. For current movie searches, YTS is easier when file size matters, while 1337x and EXT.to provide broader alternatives.

TorrentGalaxy: Too Unstable to Recommend

TorrentGalaxy earned its place in the earlier article because it combined a large movie catalog with useful quality and language filters. Availability became the deciding problem. The site went through repeated outages and operational changes, followed by a much larger disruption in 2025. I would rather remove it from the main 15 than recommend a domain that may disappear or change ownership. EXT.to is the closest replacement in this guide for a modern general search experience. ExtraTorrent: Current Sites Are Clones

ExtraTorrent was once one of the largest torrent indexes in the world.
